Rapp Group’s Rich History

Since the beginnings, Rapp’s headquarters has been located at the outstanding location on the Hochstrasse in Basel. We can see a multi-functional office, workshop and residential building of the former construction company depicted above (approx. 1880). Shortly after the picture was taken, this complex fell victim to the extension of the train station.

Rapp grew big in the business of building. Based on the construction business founded in the 1860s, for decades the company operated simultaneously in the areas of construction and engineering. About 20 years ago Rapp withdrew from the construction business and focused exclusively on planning and consulting activities. Since then, these activities have been expanded in relation to the offered market segments and customers. Rapp belongs to the most powerful, multidisciplinary and international planning firms in Switzerland. The Board of Directors and the Executive Management can boast members of the 4th and 5th generation of the founding family in active positions.
