| 1868 | Joachim Rapp-Uebelin establishes a construction company in Basel. | |
| 1896 | His two sons Wilhelm Rapp-Müller and Joachim Rapp-Bührer continue to manage the business under the name of W.&J. Rapp and begin to provide engineering consultancy services. | |
| 1934 | Establishment of a branch office in Muttenz (BL). Further branches in the region are opened. | |
| 1946 | The company is converted into a public-limited company under the name of "W.&J. Rapp AG, Consulting Engineers and Contractors". | |
| 1974 | With the establishment of the company Robert-Grandpierre et Rapp SA Rapp begins to offer transport planning services in western Switzerland. | |
| 1988 | A subsidiary is set up to deal with projects concerning heating management and the preparation of individual consumption-based invoices for heating costs: Rapp Wärmetechnik AG. | |

| 2003 | Rapp adopts a new business structure, with four operating companies and a service support company grouped under the umbrella of a single holding company. As part of this reorganisation, Affentranger + Partner is fully integrated into the company "Rapp Infra AG". Rapp Trans AG acquires the company "Abay & Meier" (Zurich). | |
